Tina

How long have you been at Raincity Athletics? What brought you to RA?

I've been coming to Raincity regularly for about 3 years now. I initially was looking for just olympic weightlifting but Taryn and Simon convinced me to start with crossfit classes and now here we are!

How have you adjusted your training habits since insolation started?

When isolation started I made the decision to move back in with my parents temporarily to be closer to family. I managed to convince my Dad to let me turn the garage into a gym and was able to borrow a barbell and a rower from Raincity. I was able to keep up pretty high-intensity training, but the biggest shift was training on my own every day.

What do you miss the most about the gym?

The people without a doubt. Although I was keeping up with most of my gym friends, I missed all the small interactions that you have at the gym. Like running into someone you haven't seen in awhile, laughing at a making a weird face mid-lift, things like that. It's crazy how much those small interactions can really turn your day around. It's really hard to have a shitty day at the gym - believe me I've tried before!

What have you learned about your self during this time?

I think I learned to rely on myself more and be happy spending time with myself.

What move do you hate the most but you are so desperate to come back to the gym that you won't mind doing?

The assault bike sprints. I can't believe I'm saying this but I would have killed to destroy my legs going out too hot on the assault bike.
